This album cover is a favorite of mine because I think the concept of sorrow is very strong and is seen across the visuals of this cover. The woman's expression and her body pose is almost celestial-like but gives off a sense of sadness with something else that I can never put my finger on. I see sorrow but also this idea of escaping and closing a door. The visuals remind me of a story book, through the style of illustration and the almost whimsical look of the title which contrasts against the concept. For some reason this fits, and I think the artist of this album doesn't necessarily want us to just experience sadness but understand that this is a phase almost.

                                            Politics of Living - Wikipedia

I've always enjoyed this album because of the colors, the action happening on the front cover, and the overall simplicity. I think that this cover makes a statement and works very well. The blue pops and stand out, and the way the umbrella is situated under the title is very engaging. The concept of this album deals with the politics of life as in friends, relationships, and family. I think the image is very fitting because it basically represents how life can go either way and changes.

This album is all about showcasing greed, power, social justice, technology, and environmental problems. I will always enjoy this cover art because it's like entering into this familiar dimension that touches upon so many problems in society. The colors work very well and the alignment of the type give off these different perspectives. Yet while some edges are straight other part of this design are fluid and show movement.

This was a challenge for me, trying to figure out what the general alignment is. I'm kind of torn between center alignment and edge alignment. The type on the bottom right is aligned to the right while the names of the actors and title are aligned to the top edge I believe (Although the actual names are centered themselves.)  Color, contrast, repetition and proportion can contribute to visual hierarchy. I first see the gun because of it's contrasting bold color and the size. I then see the butterfly because it stands out against the blue background and is warmer. The role of contrast, color and proportion is to help with creating visual hierarchy and to help balance the piece. The gun is the largest and boldest part of the image and takes up the most space because of this a lot of the weight is on the bottom of the poster. However the contrast created by the butterfly being a warm color and being fluid-like along with the title begins to balance out the weight from the gun. Also the white halo looking gradient around the butterfly also grabs my attention to the top of the page. My eye starts at the bottom of the gun and gradually follows the diagonal to the image of the butterfly and then to the title. I think the poster follows an invisible grid, and then the image almost breaks it to draw attention to itself. I feel like the negative space is used in a smart way and creates breathing room for all of the elements. Some areas have elements closer together and this creates tension where my eyes are drawn to them.
